Frequently-asked Questions about Placing a Payment Instruction.
What does the term 'payment instruction' mean?
The online payment information you submit through OrbitRemit is referred to as a 'Payment Instruction'.
You use OrbitRemit to provide us all the information about the payment you would like made, then submit this payment instruction online.
You then make a local transfer for the total amount to OrbitRemit via your Internet Banking and we arrange the settlement of your payment in the overseas destination.
Can I submit a payment at any time of the day?
You can submit a payment at any time of the day. To see more details on payout timeframes please view details for each country under payment options. Please be mindful that our offices are closed at weekends and payments made over the weekend or on public holidays will take longer to process as per our terms and conditions.
Can I cancel a payment?
Payments can only be cancelled by contacting OrbitRemit by email or telephone.
I have logged a payment but have not received a payment confirmation email from you?
As soon as you have completed the payment process within OrbitRemit the system will automatically generate an email to confirm the details of this payment and advise you on the next step. Occasionally these emails may be caught by spam filters or end up in your junk folder depending on your settings. If you have not received the email from us we suggest you check these folders.
What happens if I have given the beneficiary account details incorrectly?
It is your responsibility to supply us with the correct account details. In the event that the account details are incorrect we will contact you and request new account information. In the very unlikely event that the funds make it into an incorrect account we will attempt to retrieve them on your behalf.
What does the term 'payment total' mean
When you calculate your payment instruction on the OrbitRemit website, the total for the payment is made up of the amount in your local currency you are sending, plus the applicable fee for the payment.
The payment total will always be in your local currency and is the amount you must transfer to the local OrbitRemit bank account via your Internet Banking once your payment instruction is confirmed.
