Head of Marketing

This is a new role in a rapidly growing fintech business operating in the global remittance market-a market worth over $600 billion annually

OrbitRemit is looking for a head or marketing who can increase awareness and assist in building a reputable household name, by developing and implementing effective marketing & communications strategies. The successful candidate will be involved in and responsible for the following:


What you will work on

  • Working closely with the founders in developing a marketing & communications plan, including strategy, goals and budget.
  • Leading and coordinating all marketing and communications activity – branding, content, copy – identifying touch points with customers.
  • Managing incoming media inquiries and interview/event requests, whilst leveraging existing media relationships to seek placements in print, broadcast, and online media.
  • Building overall brand image through focused and measured press coverage and events.
  • Leading user acquisition activities and growth hacking initiatives through to the retention and engagement with existing users.
  • Maintaining an understanding of industry trends and utilising this in continuous strategy development.
  • Building relationships with content collaborators.
  • Forging partnerships with key media outlets, influencers and brands.
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset.

About you

  • Previous experience within a start-up environment, or a high growth organisation where you have been a key figure from the start.
  • Experience in a consumer marketing role, ideally product marketing, content marketing or audience development within the tech industry.
  • Proven tactical and strategic background.
  • Media and journalism experience with an established network of media and PR agency contacts desirable.
  • Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
  • Proven experience working within a cross functional team environment (especially data, product and engineering) in order to drive growth hacking initiatives from user acquisition through to engagement and retention.
  • University education in Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with Looker, Mixpanel or similar modern BI/analytics platforms would be a bonus. An understanding of SQL would also be beneficial.
